Russian authorities reported this Friday new progress in the framework of the invasion of Ukraine, initiated in February 2022 by order of the Kremlin, by confirming the control of another locality located in the province of Dnipropetrovsk.
In a brief note disseminated through social networks, the Ministry of Defense of Russia stated that "units of the Eastern military group liberated the locality of Oleksandrivka, in Dnipropetrovsk," without offering details on the number of casualties registered during the clashes with Ukrainian forces.
Russia formalized in September 2022 the annexation of the partially occupied regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia, and has also managed to advance into the provinces of Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk, in addition to having annexed the Crimean peninsula in 2014. None of these moves have received recognition from the international community.
