The opposition leader and former presidential candidate of Colombia, Iván Cepeda, announced this Friday that he will file a constitutional protection resource against the Executive of De la Espriella, following the suspension of the informational and opinion spaces of 20 Emisoras de Paz.

"I announce that I will file a tutela action against the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications and INRAVISIÓN, for the violation of fundamental rights to information, to freedom of expression, and to peace, transgressed due to the decision to suspend the programming of the 20 peace stations," announced the opposition leader in a post on his social networks.

The order to interrupt the broadcasting of these contents was adopted by the new head of Inravisión, Ángela María Mora, and was finalized after a meeting with the Minister of Information Technologies and Communications, Alexandra Falla.

"This determination disregards that these stations were created based on what is provided in point 6.5 of the Final Peace Agreement and the duty that state authorities have to fulfill in good faith what was agreed," Cepeda has denounced.

The Emisoras de Paz, promoted through RTVC and Radio Nacional de Colombia, were born with the purpose of offering spaces to the communities most affected by the armed conflict and disseminating information about their claims.

With this decision, the government led by the far-right Abelardo de la Espriella advances in its campaign commitment to "end" the Peace Agreements and to halt negotiations with various armed groups, in contrast to the dialogue path promoted by former president Gustavo Petro.

At the same time, Minister Falla and Mora have been called to appear before the Colombian Parliament to explain the reasons for this measure.
