The Tehran Prosecutor's Office has presented this Saturday a charge of terrorism following the murders of the Iranian supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and the girls from the Minab school, in the context of the start of the bombing campaign carried out by the United States and Israel. With this step, the Iranian judicial authorities seek the opening of a procedure in national and international instances.
The Tehran prosecutor, Ali Salehi, has registered this Saturday the "formal charge" in the case "of the terrorist act that caused the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and four members of his family after completing the preliminary investigations and examining the evidence."
According to the accusation, by targeting the highest political authority and the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran, "objectives such as weakening the government structure and coercive influence on the country's policies were pursued," an action that, according to criminal law and international instruments against terrorism, "entails criminal responsibility for its authors, commanders, and planners."
In the same attack, the daughter, wife, son-in-law, and 14-month-old granddaughter of the Iranian leader also died, victims of an Israeli bombing in the ayatollah's complex in the Iranian capital, within the offensive jointly initiated by the United States and Israel on February 28.
The Tehran Prosecutor's Office has also communicated the presentation of another accusation "in the case of the terrorist act that caused the martyrdom of students" at the Shajare Tayebeh primary school in Minab, in Hormozgan province, where 175 people died, including 155 girls.
These files, the prosecutor pointed out in a statement released by the Mizan agency, "in addition to determining the legal responsibility of any accused within the country, will serve as a legal document for the Islamic Republic of Iran to pursue the criminal responsibility of the authors and perpetrators at the international level."
