At least three Palestinians, including a minor, have lost their lives and several more have been injured this Sunday in a new series of attacks by Israeli forces on the Gaza Strip, according to data from medical sources cited by Palestinian media.
According to the Palestinian newspaper 'Filastín', which refers to local health personnel, a man identified as Akram Abú Madi and a girl named Yulia al Balaui have died after the impact of a projectile launched by an Israeli drone in the western area of the city of Khan Yunis, in the south of the Palestinian enclave. Several more people were hit and injured in this same attack.
In another separate incident, one person has died and others have been injured in a bombing also carried out by a drone against the Ibn Sina School, located in the Al Shati refugee camp, northwest of Gaza City.
The Ministry of Health of Gaza, under the control of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced this Sunday that in the last 24 hours, nine deaths and 41 injuries have been registered in the various hospitals of the Strip.
In parallel, sources linked to the Palestinian prisoners' collective have indicated that a Palestinian inmate, Saber al Amital, has died while in Israeli custody, as reported again by 'Filastín'. Al Mital's body reportedly showed signs of severe blows and numerous bruises.
Hamas has condemned the death of Al Amital, "detained in a barbaric operation and a brutal aggression." The Islamist movement also denounces the "policy of deprivation, medical negligence, abuse, physical torture, and slow murder" applied, according to its claims, against Palestinian prisoners, and maintains that these practices have caused the death of 91 inmates in Israeli prisons since October 7, 2023.
In total, since October 11, the date on which the last ceasefire came into effect, 1,021 people have died and 3,249 have been injured in Israeli attacks. Since October 7, 2023, the toll stands at 73,032 dead and 173,357 injured.
