The Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, issued a stern warning to Iran this Saturday, stating that his country "will respond with violence" to any new aggression, following the recent US military action against Tehran in response to the Iranian attack on a merchant ship crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
"Iran signed a ceasefire agreement. We have respected it. If you have disagreements about how the memorandum of understanding is being applied, you can call us," the US leader clarified in a social media post, urging the resolution of differences through diplomatic channels.
Vance insisted that "violence will be met with violence" as a direct warning after the bombing carried out by the United States Air Force against "Iranian missile and drone storage facilities, as well as coastal radar sites," as specified by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) in a statement released shortly after 10:30 PM (Spanish mainland time).
Washington's action came a day after a ship was hit by a projectile off the coast of Oman, an incident that the United States attributed to Tehran, accusing it of having broken the preliminary agreement reached the previous week.
On the other hand, Iran's Revolutionary Guard stated through Iranian media that it had attacked "several points" where the United States Army was "positioned." The military branch also accused the White House of violating Article Five of the preliminary agreement and emphasized that the United States' attacks "have received the necessary response."
