The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has expressed his gratitude for the military aid provided by NATO, emphasizing that this support is "fundamental" daily on the battlefield. At the same time, he has once again focused on his Government's strategic objective of integrating into the Atlantic bloc, highlighting that, in light of their military experience, Ukrainians are "worthy" of joining the Atlantic Alliance.
"The work that NATO does is fundamental every day, especially through the PURL and the essential supplies of interceptor missiles that help protect our cities and communities," he indicated in a message of thanks for the gestures of support to Kiev on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of its independence.
Zelensky has insisted that Kiev's goal remains full membership in NATO. "Ukrainians have shown beyond a doubt that we are worthy of belonging to the Alliance. Day after day, Ukrainian fighters hold the front, protect our Europe, and build an increasingly interoperable force," he defended, emphasizing Ukraine's role as a key piece of security on the eastern European border.
In this line, he has emphasized that the experience gained in the war and the most relevant knowledge of the Ukrainian Armed Forces "is properly shared with those who have supported us from the very first moment of the ruthless Russian invasion."
