A new march, led by representatives of the main victims' associations of the dana and under the slogan 'Mazón to jail', has once again marched through the center of València this Saturday to demand the parliamentary seat of the former 'president' of the Generalitat. The entities have reiterated that they will continue to mobilize until they achieve "truth, justice, and reparation" and that "it is not applied" to him: "We still don't know the truth".

Among those attending, t-shirts with the messages 'No to Mazón's immunity' and '20.11, neither oblivion nor forgiveness' were seen, as well as banners with slogans such as 'Neither left nor right. We want a government that protects us', 'Mazón to prison. València doesn't want you', 'Less lies and more justice, murderers' or 'When you lie, you not only hide the truth, but also the lie'.

During the mobilization, a large banner with the message 'Now we all raise our voices for those who can no longer' was unfurled, while slogans such as 'They are not deaths, they are murders' and 'No to immunity, yes to Picassent' were chanted. A contingent of families and teachers joined the demonstration, in the context of the indefinite strike in non-university public education, which is completing its third week of stoppage.

The Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) unanimously decided not to investigate Mazón for his actions during the dana of October 29, 2024, finding no evidence of a crime. According to the court, he did not have a specific "duty and obligation" to guarantee citizen safety in accordance with the law, nor is it recorded that he participated in the Es Alert, although it describes his behavior as "reprehensible" on a social and political level.

Minutes before the start of the protest in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento of València, the president of the Association of Victims of the Dana October 29, 2024, Mariló Gradolí, explained to the media that, 19 months after the flood, they "take to the streets" because they "still do not have truth, justice, and reparation": "19 months later, we are taking the same route as in the first demonstration, when 130,000 Valencians came out to support us, and that support is still alive, more alive than ever. We continue because we have the same objective as that day: truth, justice, reparation, and security for the future."

In relation to the Investigation Commission of the dana in Les Corts, Gradolí admitted that the associations were aware that it was a "sham". "We demanded to participate -- he said -- because the voice of the victims had to be in that investigation commission. However, the real investigation commission is the Court of Instruction number 3 of Catarroja, where with proven facts it is being seen that there was sufficient information to alert the population and media to be able to warn the population, and it was not done".

They demand Mazón's resignation and emergency works

On behalf of the Association of Victims Dana-L'Horta Sud, its vice-president, Elizabeth González, has stressed that the main reason for the protest is "because we want Mazón to resign as regional deputy", and has described it as "a direct mockery of the citizens" that Mazón "continues in the position he is in".

González added: "We insist that we are asking for emergency works and not reconstruction works. Reconstruction works will take 20 or 30 years. Therefore, we demand that this be treated now as emergency work".
