Nuevas Generaciones del PP has decided that Valladolid will be the venue for its XVI National Congress, which will take place on July 10 and 11 and in which the successor to the Basque deputy Beatriz Fanjul at the head of the youth organization will be elected, according to 'popular' sources have told Europa Press.
For now, three candidates have formalized their intention to compete for the Presidency of NNGG: Ignacio Dancausa from Madrid, current head of the youth organization in the Community of Madrid and close to Isabel Díaz Ayuso; Candela Anglés, regional deputy in the Valencian Courts; and Antonio Landáburu from Murcia, who presides over Nuevas Generaciones in his community.
The Board of Directors of the PP had announced about ten days ago that the conclave would only be held on July 11, but it has finally been decided to extend it for one more day to include the debate of two reports, one of a political nature and another focused on the Statutes.
This Friday, the Congress Organizing Commission (COC) has given the green light for the meeting to take place in Valladolid on July 10 and 11. The deadline for registering endorsements will end next June 3 at 5:00 p.m., according to sources consulted by Europa Press.
Internal calendar and objectives of the congress
The organizing committee will have until June 4 to proceed with the official proclamation of candidacies. The internal campaign will start on June 5 at 9:00 a.m. and will end on June 11 at 12:00 a.m.
The national leadership of the PP, headed by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, intends for the Nuevas Generaciones congress in July to serve to reinforce its connection with the young electorate, a segment in which Vox has experienced significant growth in recent years.
Sources from Feijóo's team emphasize that there is no "official" or "favorite" candidate for the national leadership of the party. "We neither induce nor paralyze candidacies," they stress, to emphasize that there will be no "interference" from 'Génova' and that their objective is for young people to learn to "negotiate and dialogue."
