The president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will assume the presidency this Friday, via videoconference, of a new extraordinary session of the Monitoring Committee created to address the migration crisis in Ceuta. This has been confirmed by the Minister of Territorial Policy and "single command" in the autonomous city, Ángel Víctor Torres, after concluding the first meeting of this body in Ceuta.
In the meeting this Wednesday, the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz; the president of Ceuta, Juan Vivas; the Government delegate in the autonomous city and other ministers with responsibilities in managing the current migration situation, who also intervened via videoconference, participated.
Torres detailed that on Friday the head of the Executive will lead the Committee from the Palace of Moncloa, while Minister Elma Saiz or he himself will remain in Ceuta to continue coordinating the planned actions on the ground.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that in the meeting a shared purpose has been established by all the administrations involved: to ensure that "all the people who stayed in Ceuta from the 31st return," provided that such return occurs "in accordance with and in accordance with the law."
