The Minister of Culture and spokesperson for Sumar, Ernest Urtasun, has considered the information being learned about the summary of the 'Leire Díez case' to be "unpresentable," although he has insisted that it will be Justice who finally determines whether the investigated facts constitute a crime.

At the same time, he has urged the socialist sector of the Government to "take brave measures" to ensure that the legislature reaches its end, both in the social sphere and in the fight against corruption, emphasizing that the current mandate must "be worthwhile for the people" and prevent a "negative majority" from consolidating in Congress. In this regard, he has reiterated that the PP lacks sufficient support to promote a motion of no confidence.

In an interview on 'TVE,' reported by Europa Press, Urtasun has acknowledged his concern about this case and the indictment of former president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, for which he has urged the PSOE to adopt clear decisions on democratic regeneration and stop being a "burden" for the country's progressive majority.

The head of Culture has warned that there are sectors that intend to "bring down" the Government, although he has emphasized that this is "no excuse" for the socialist wing to postpone necessary reforms, since, in his opinion, the current response is "insufficient." As an example, he has mentioned the proposal for reform of the statute of former presidents registered by Sumar in Congress.

Regarding the Leire Díez case, he has reiterated that what is being learned "is not presentable." "Is it a crime or not? It is not my place to judge that, justice will have to judge it," he stated, to argue that zero corruption is achievable and that his political space constitutes a reference in this regard.
