Antonio Landeta, who held the presidency of the General Board of the Principality of Asturias between 1987 and 1991, has died this Saturday at the age of 89, according to sources from the PP.

Antonio Landeta y Álvarez-Valdés (La Coruña, November 30, 1936) served as president of the Asturian parliament from July 8, 1987, to June 21, 1991.

Graduated in Law from the University of Oviedo, he developed a broad political career. He joined Alianza Popular in 1977 and later integrated into the Partido Popular, a party with which he was a deputy both in the regional Chamber and in the Congress of Deputies. In the meeting of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the PP of Asturias, a minute of silence was observed in his memory.
