The Ministry of Agriculture of the Generalitat has communicated the appearance of 6 new confirmed cases of African swine fever (ASF) in Catalonia during the last week, all of them located within the area previously delimited as high risk.
As the department detailed this Thursday in a statement, 2 of the positives have been detected in Barcelona, another 2 in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, 1 in Sant Just Desvern and 1 in Cerdanyola del Vallès, which means that this high-risk area continues to cover 19 municipalities.
In the last 7 days, 600 samples have been analyzed, of which 6 have tested positive, placing the proportion of affected animals at 1% and raising the total number of infected specimens since the beginning of the outbreak to 364.
