FoodBox, a restaurant group that integrates brands such as Santagloria, Vezzo, Lateral, L'Obrador, Taberna del Volapié, MásQMenos and Papizza, continues with its growth plan after exceeding the threshold of 315 locations. The company has added 11 new establishments between May and June, as communicated.
With these latest additions, the number of openings carried out by the group so far in 2026 amounts to 30, placing its network at a total of 316 operating establishments.
In this period, nine of the new openings correspond to Santagloria Coffee & Bakery, which continues to strengthen its leadership in the 'coffee & bakery' segment and demonstrate its potential for expansion in complementary markets and locations.
The chain has reinforced its presence in the Community of Madrid with new locations in Las Rozas de Madrid, Ifema and Ríos Rosas. In addition, it has opened establishments in Torrevieja, Segovia, Granada, Esplugues de Llobregat and Seville, and has added a new international unit in Mérida, Yucatán (Mexico), in line with the brand's growth strategy outside of Spain. After these openings, Santagloria now has 234 establishments.
To this expansion rate is added the opening of a new Lateral restaurant in Torrevieja, also located in the Paseo del Mar area. This location becomes Lateral's second franchise and brings its network to 21 operational restaurants.
The group has also continued to promote the development of its Papizza concept, with a new opening in the Hércules shopping center, in Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz), thus reinforcing the brand's presence in fast-consumption and high-turnover locations.
These openings are supported by FoodBox's solid recent performance. In 2025, the group exceeded 163 million euros in system sales, representing an increase of 11.2% compared to the previous year, in addition to registering 57 new openings.
The positive trend continued during the first half of 2026, a period in which the company reached 86.6 million euros in system sales, 9.3% more than in the same period of the previous year, driven by the expansion of the network and the good performance of its main brands.
The director of Development at FoodBox, Ignacio Poblaciones, has highlighted the "solidity" of the multi-brand model and the capacity to "continue growing in an orderly fashion" in different segments of organized catering. "All of this allows us to continue advancing towards our goal of closing 2026 with around 70 openings and reaching 500 operational establishments by the end of 2028," he indicated.
