The Cortes of Aragon have expressed their support and closeness to the people affected by the fire declared this Thursday in the Comarca de La Litera, in the province of Huesca, which affects the municipal terms of Tamarite and Alcampell.
The president of the Cortes of Aragon, María Navarro, opened this Friday's plenary session by conveying the Chamber's solidarity "with those people who are affected" and her recognition of "all the people, the men and women who are fighting against the fires."
The fire broke out on Thursday morning and has forced the preventive evacuation of 240 residents from three nearby villages, Azanuy, Alins, and Calasanz, in addition to ordering confinement in Fonz. The flames have already ravaged more than a thousand hectares, and the affected perimeter is around 4,000 hectares.
The parliamentary debate began with a question addressed to the president of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, by the PSOE spokesperson, Pilar Alegría.
The head of the regional executive, who traveled on Thursday afternoon to the Advanced Command Post in Alcampell and to the Los Olímpicos pavilion in Monzón, where some of the evacuated residents are housed, began his speech by thanking "the autonomous communities that today will lend us resources to be able to fight against the fires, a fire that concerns us extraordinarily."
"We hope that the climatic conditions can improve in the coming hours and allow this fire to be extinguished as soon as possible," Azcón added.
In her turn, Pilar Alegría sent "affection, support, and solidarity to all the residents of La Litera and also of Cinca Medio, who since the early hours of yesterday and also today are facing the most serious fire that is hitting our autonomous community in these first days of summer."
Alegría also highlighted the work of all the public servants of the Government of Aragon, the Government of Spain, and the other administrations involved.
Finally, she addressed the president of the regional executive to emphasize: "I am sure that when these fires are controlled, all the damage and all the losses will be taken into very good account to quickly provide aid to all the residents."
