Hugo Garrido
Technical Engineer in Systems Informatics and journalist specialized in data and investigation. He began his career at Fundación Civio, where he worked on the right of access to information and on projects such as España en Llamas or Quién Manda. He spent more than five years at the newspaper El Mundo, of whose data section (El Mundo Data) he was coordinator.
In the summer of 2020, he jumped to the audiovisual sector as part of the Producciones del Barrio team, for the production of the television program Salvados (La Sexta), where he was a scriptwriter and editor for two seasons. Since June 2022, he is part of the foundational team of Demócrata, where he is head of the Data Unit.
He also accumulates more than nine years of experience in teaching journalism and data visualization within different master's programs and newsrooms of media outlets.
