The price of tobacco changes again starting this Saturday, May 16. The Official State Gazette has published a new resolution from the Commissioner for the Tobacco Market with the retail prices of certain tobacco products in state-run tobacco shops in the Monopoly area. The update affects cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, and pipe tobacco.
The resolution, dated May 14, 2026, and published in BOE number 119 this Saturday, comes into effect on the same day of its publication. That is, the new prices have been applied since yesterday in tobacconists in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands for the references included in the official list.
The change does not affect all brands on the market, but only the references published by the BOE. Among the included brands are King Storm, Alhambra, Drew Estate, Eiroa, Factory Smoke, La Galera, Silverado, Privilege, and Serbetli. In Ceuta and Melilla, the resolution also includes new prices for Placeres and Silverado references.
Which tobacco brands are changing prices starting today
The update published by the BOE affects several categories of products. In cigarettes, the main reference is King Storm, which is set at 5.00 euros per pack for both its regular format and King Storm 100’s.
In cigars and cigarillos, there are references from Alhambra, Drew Estate, Eiroa, Factory Smoke, and La Galera, with prices ranging from 0.68 euros per unit for Alhambra Coronita to 12.50 euros for Eiroa Classic Toro Gordo.
Prices for packs of cigars and cigarillos from La Galera and Silverado are also changing, in addition to a long list of pipe and shisha tobaccos from Privilege and Serbetli.
New price for King Storm cigarettes
In the cigarette category, the BOE includes two references for the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.
- King Storm (20): 5.00 euros per pack
- King Storm 100’s (20): 5.00 euros per pack
These are the only cigarette references included in the resolution published this Saturday. Therefore, today's change does not represent a generalized modification of all packs, but rather a specific update for certain brands and products.

Silverado is one of the brands with the most references included in this update, especially in packs of 20 units.
Pipe and shisha tobacco: Privilege and Serbetli
The resolution also includes a long list of pipe tobaccos, especially shisha products from Privilege and Serbetli. In the case of Privilege, the 200-gram formats are set at 16.00 euros, while the 50-gram formats are priced at 4.30 euros.
Among the Privilege references are Breathe, Dance, Discover, Dive, Dream, Enjoy, Fight, Love, Read, Smoke Break, Smoke Feel, Smoke Jump, Smoke Kiss, Smoke Like, Smoke Live, Smoke Play, Smoke Shake, Smoke Show, Smoke Stop and Travel.
For Serbetli, the new prices published are:
- Serbetli Limton Grill (200 g): 18.50 euros
- Serbetli Nestja (200 g): 18.50 euros
- Serbetli Panepol (200 g): 18.50 euros
- Serbetli Pops (200 g): 18.50 euros
What is happening in Ceuta and Melilla
The resolution also includes specific prices for Ceuta and Melilla. For cigars and cigarillos per unit, several Placeres references appear, such as Nicaragua Especiales Robusto M, Nicaragua Mini Robustos M, Nicaragua Mini Torpedos M, Nicaragua Perlitas M, and Nicaragua Torpedos M.
For packs, the BOE includes Silverado references for Ceuta and Melilla, with prices of 1.60 euros for different formats of 20 units: CH, De Luxe American Blend C20, De Luxe Blue C20, De Luxe negro, Double Green, Green, Ice Cool, M, RG, and V.
This point is important because the prices published for Ceuta and Melilla do not always match those of the Peninsula and Balearic Islands.
Does it also affect bars?
The BOE resolution sets retail prices in Tobacco and Stamp Retailers. Furthermore, the Tobacco Market Commissioner allows consultation of current prices in both tobacconists and Points of Sale with Surcharge, the formula that affects authorized establishments such as bars or premises with vending machines.
In practice, when a reference changes its official price, the user may notice the modification both at the tobacconist and in the authorized channels of sale with surcharge, although the final amount in machines may include the corresponding surcharge of the point of sale.
Why the price of tobacco changes
The Tobacco Market Commissioner publishes the retail prices of certain tobacco products in accordance with Law 13/1998, on the Regulation of the Tobacco Market and Tax Regulations. The resolution specifies that these prices have been proposed by the corresponding manufacturers and importers.
This is why the changes do not necessarily affect the entire market nor do they always imply a general increase. Each BOE publication includes specific references and may include cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, pipe tobacco, or other tobacco products.
In recent weeks other price updates had already been published, so it is advisable to review each resolution to know exactly which brands are changing and from when they apply.
