The Parliament has agreed this Thursday to urge the Government to review and update the strategy of the Mossos d'Esquadra, and in particular of the general information commissariat of the force, with the aim of improving efficiency and effectiveness in the tasks of prevention, detection, and dismantling "of organized violent far-right" in European countries, including Catalonia.

This section of a motion promoted by the Comuns has been approved in the plenary session of the Chamber with the support of PSC-Units, ERC, Junts, Comuns, and the CUP, the rejection of PP and Vox, and the abstention of Aliança Catalana (AC).

"This is a fundamental and key challenge to guarantee public safety," underlines the text of the motion, which also raises the need to review the strategy of the Office for Equality of Treatment and Non-Discrimination in order to reinforce the effectiveness of its application.

The Parliament has also censured the racist attacks recorded in Belfast last June and has noted "that the activity of the violent far-right is a threat to public safety and coexistence throughout Europe."

The Chamber has also reprobated, with the favorable votes of PSC-Units, Junts, ERC, Comuns, and the CUP and the opposition of PP, Vox, and AC, the political strategies that use criminal acts attributed to specific individuals who are migrants to criminalize or encourage hatred on social networks or in public demonstrations against this group.
