The Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities and general secretary of the PSPV, Diana Morant, has stressed that her "sole and exclusive" priority is the Comunitat Valenciana and has stated that, from her position in the Government of Spain, she does "more for the Comunitat Valenciana than the Consell any day".

Morant, who took part in the Dia de l'Orxata in Alboraia (Valencia) this Wednesday, spoke out when questioned by the media about the "criticism" that her possible candidacy for the Presidency of the Generalitat has generated in "recent days".

"My priority is the Comunitat Valenciana, my sole and exclusive priority, and I believe that as a minister of the Government of Spain, of Pedro Sánchez, we do more for the Comunitat Valenciana than the Consell any of its days," Morant reiterated. At this point, she mentioned measures such as "the reduction of ratios approved by the Government of Spain" in the face of "a crisis with the educational community" in the region, as well as actions to support the tile sector or those affected by the DANA, "multiplying by three the aid provided by the Consell of before Mazón and now of Pérez Llorca".

She also indicated that, "certainly," the criticism she is receiving comes from the Popular Party and various officials of this party. "They say that their priority is the Comunitat Valenciana. I believe that their priority is to remain in their seats to continue occupying the institutions and not to prioritize solutions to the problems of Valencians," she reproached.

In this regard, she pointed out that "in the budgets presented by Mr. Llorca with the amendments that Vox has now put on the table, there will be a huge cut to NGOs, for example to the Red Cross, which I find regrettable; a huge cut to women victims of gender violence with what is happening, with the murders we have had to lament precisely in the Comunitat of gender violence but also of vicarious violence...".

And she emphasized: "I don't care if they are entrenched in the Palau de la Generalitat or in the Diputación, I don't care if they are fighting among themselves to see who gets the chair. The chair must be occupied in the future by a government that governs for Valencians, and that is what I offer for the Comunitat Valenciana."

"There will be no super Sunday"

On the other hand, when asked if she believes that socialist mayors could benefit from general elections coinciding with municipal elections, the PSPV leader recalled that her team is made up almost entirely of mayors and that they recently attended the Federal Committee "to support Pedro Sánchez in all the decisions they make".

In any case, she clarified that, "in case anyone is worried, President Pedro Sánchez already confirmed that there will not be a super Sunday".
