Móstoles will have an elite and U23 cycling team starting in 2027, a new squad that will compete in the main events of the national calendar. The announcement comes just before the start of the Vuelta a Madrid U23, which will begin this Tuesday with the start and finish on Iker Casillas avenue.
This formation will be integrated into the Móstoles El Pelotón Sports Club and will be directed by Iván David Vila, current head of El Bicho Plataforma Central Iberum. His arrival will secure the structure a fixed place in the Copa de España elite and U23, the benchmark competition at the national level for this category, consisting of ten races in different autonomous communities and with live television broadcast.
From the City Council, they indicate that the new block will aim to detect and develop local cycling talent and compete throughout the national territory carrying the name of Móstoles, in addition to offering a training itinerary for young people who want to make the leap to the professional field.
