The municipal swimming pools of Madrid in 2026 still do not have an official opening date, a usual unknown at this time of year that keeps many Madrileños waiting for the start of the bathing season. Although the City Council has not yet published the calendar, there are clear clues about how the campaign will be.

No confirmed dates… but with reference to last year

As of today, the municipal Sports portal does not yet include the “Summer 2026” campaign, and continues to show information corresponding to 2025. In that last reference, the season extended from May 15 to September 7, a framework that could be repeated this year, although it is not officially confirmed.

Meanwhile, preparation work is underway at various points, indicating that the opening should not be long in being announced.

Schedules: the same three-shift model

Although there is no calendar, the usual usage scheme is maintained. The municipal swimming pools will continue to operate with three differentiated shifts:

  • Morning: from 10:00 to 15:00
  • Afternoon: from 16:00 to 21:00
  • Full day: from 10:00 to 21:00

This model was already used in previous years and continues to be the current reference in available municipal information.

Prices of swimming pools in Madrid 2026

What is approved is the official price list for 2026, which maintains similar rates to previous campaigns:

  • Adults (27 to 64 years): 4.50 euros
  • Youth (15 to 26 years): 3.60 euros
  • Children (up to 14 years): 2.70 euros
  • Seniors over 65: 1.35 euros

In addition, free admission for people with disabilities and 10-session vouchers with reduced prices according to age are contemplated.

Slots and prices still not detailed

Unlike other years, the City Council has not yet published the specific breakdown by shifts (morning or afternoon), although in 2025 these were cheaper than full-day access. In summary, Madrid is approaching the pool season with defined prices but no confirmed dates, a situation that repeats every year until the City Council publishes the complete campaign.

Until then, everything points to the model being a continuation, but users will have to wait to know the exact day on which they can take the first summer swim in the capital.
