China has become the main protagonist of the summer of 2026 among Spanish travelers. According to KAYAK's Travel Check-In: Best deals for summer 2026 , Beijing and Shanghai occupy first and second place among the most trending international destinations for summer 2026, with increases in flight searches of 85% and 64% respectively compared to the summer of 2025.
This interest is not an isolated trend. International flight searches to travel to China between now and the end of the year show increases of 62% in search volume by Brazilian travelers compared to 2025, 60% for Filipinos, and 42% for Colombians. As for Spain, it currently ranks 11th globally in flight searches to Chinese destinations, with a 45% increase compared to 2025.
"At a time when price evolution generates uncertainty among many travelers, the reality is that opportunities still exist for those who plan their trips in advance," points out Natalia Díez-Rivas, KAYAK's commercial director for Europe. "China is a good example of this. In addition to offering a unique combination of big cities, historical heritage, and natural landscapes, travelers can find lower average flight prices to some of its main cities between now and the end of the year, with drops of 7% in Shanghai and 3% in Beijing compared to last year."
What is the best time to discover China?
Of the remainder of the year, September and November stand out as the best months to discover China at the best price.
In September, Beijing combines milder temperatures, around 20ºC, less rainfall, the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and flight prices at €610 on average, 6% cheaper than in June. For those Spaniards considering traveling this month, KAYAK data indicates that the most economical time for a 14-day getaway is between September 23rd and October 6th, with flights at €557 on average. To take advantage of these fares, KAYAK recommends booking flights around June 22nd, approximately.
For those with more flexible dates for long-haul getaways, November is the most economical alternative with flights at €589 on average to Beijing. As for the best time to travel and save money, the data reveals that between November 26th and December 9th, flight prices drop to €572 on average. To take advantage of these savings opportunities, KAYAK recommends booking flights approximately for August 25th.
