Airbus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with "Brave1", the Ukrainian Government's platform specializing in defense, with the aim of strengthening innovation in the country's defense sector. With this step, the aeronautical group becomes the first Western company to close an agreement of this type with said initiative.
"Brave1" is a platform driven by the Executive of Volodymyr Zelenskyy to connect companies in the sector, public institutions, and the Armed Forces, and thus consolidate a solid international business ecosystem in Ukraine. Its goal is to accelerate the development of cutting-edge technologies for the battlefield, covering the entire cycle, from the initial idea to their effective deployment in combat.
The agreement contemplates the establishment of joint working groups aimed at promoting technological projects that cover all phases, from early scientific research to the updating of already operational equipment.
In this framework, Airbus Defence and Space solutions will be directly incorporated into "Brave1"'s "Testing in Ukraine" program. This will allow for intensive frontline trials and shared evaluations, integrating real performance data into the development process to respond quickly to the most urgent security needs.
At the same time, Airbus will act as a strategic partner at the Defence Tech Valley summit, which will be held in the Ukrainian city of Lviv and is consolidating itself as one of the main European defense technology meetings. With this participation, the company reinforces its position as a key European ally for Ukraine.
"Being chosen by Brave1 as a strategic partner in one of the most advanced defense ecosystems in the world means a lot to us. We are committed to supporting our partners with our extensive experience and knowledge in the defense aerospace sector, while at the same time enhancing our future capabilities thanks to the unique experience and talent of Ukrainian innovators," highlighted Jo Mueller, a member of the executive committee of Airbus Defence and Space.
"In Ukraine, research and development cycles are measured in days, not months or years. Collaboration with a world leader like Airbus allows us to combine their decades of deep aerospace expertise with our agile, combat-proven R&D approach. Together, we are building faster, more resilient defense solutions for the future of European security," stated the chief operating officer of "Brave1", Iryna Zabolotna.
