Iberia has launched this Wednesday a new direct connection with Bucharest (Romania), operated from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport until September 30, with two weekly flights and a total offer exceeding 12,700 seats during the summer season, according to the airline's statement.
Regarding the schedule, outbound flights will depart from Madrid at 07:10 on Wednesdays and at 06:45 on Sundays, arriving in the Romanian capital at 12:00 in the first case and at 11:35 on the Sunday operation.
The return journey will depart from Bucharest at 12:20 on Wednesdays and at 12:45 on Sundays, with landing in Madrid scheduled for 15:25 and 15:50, respectively.
The company has indicated that this new route responds to the increasing tourist appeal of Romania and is conceived as a link that, in addition to connecting both capitals, will allow connections from Bucharest to numerous destinations in North America and Latin America by leveraging the Madrid hub. "Bucharest is an emerging destination with extraordinary tourist and economic potential," highlighted Iberia's Commercial, Network and Alliances Director, María Jesús López.
The Romanian capital thus joins Tivat (Montenegro) among the seasonal routes newly incorporated into Iberia's program, two destinations that are part of Flight Plan 2030, the roadmap with which the airline aims to strengthen its growth and consolidate Madrid as a major hub between Europe and America.
