The Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, the autonomous communities, and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) have agreed on a work calendar, with the next meeting scheduled for September 24, in order to maintain open dialogue on joint work to reduce "the abuse" of temporality in the public sector.

This commitment was adopted this Wednesday in a meeting held in Santander, presided over by the Director General of Public Service, Hilda Jiménez, and attended by those responsible for these areas in the different regional governments, according to sources from the central Executive told Europa Press.

The meeting continues the line of work that began on May 7. During the meeting, representatives of Public Service expressed their gratitude to the regional and local administrations for their involvement in justifying milestone 150 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which establishes the obligation to stabilize at least 300,000 public employment positions before December 2024. At this time, these positions already exceed 419,000.

Likewise, all parties have expressed their agreement on the importance of having precise knowledge about the situation of abuse of interim employment across all public administrations.
