Vueling and Iberia, both integrated into the IAG 'holding', have placed among the most punctual airlines on the continent in June, occupying the fourth and sixth positions, respectively, according to statistics published by Cirium.

The Barcelona-based company managed to have 82.29% of its 20,466 operated flights take off and land on schedule. For its part, the other Spanish airline registered a punctuality of 80.33% in its 16,291 operations during the sixth month of the year.

In the European ranking, the first position went to Turkish Airlines, with 84.26% of flights on time, followed by SAS, with 83.39%, and Pegasus, with 82.49%, before Vueling. The list of the ten most punctual airlines is completed by Austrian, with 81.25%, Iberia, SunExpress, with 78.63%, Norwegian, with 78.55%, Wizz Air, with 78.06%, and KLM, with 76.68%.

Globally, Saudia led in June with 92.38% punctuality, ahead of Korean Air, with 88.56%, and Aeromexico, with 86.94%. The rest of the 'top 10' is made up of Air India, with 86.85%, Singapore Airlines, with 86.74%, Westjet, with 86.40%, Emirates, with 84.36%, Turkish Airlines, SAS, and Qatar Airways, with 83.04%.

Cirium's punctuality reports for the sector are considered the oldest reference analyses of their kind in the aviation industry, initiated in 2008. The study is based on flight information from more than 600 real-time data sources and is supervised by a board of independent advisors.
