Andalusia votes this Sunday, May 17, in decisive regional elections, and one of the most frequent searches of the day is as simple as it is urgent: where do I have to vote today. The answer is on the census card, on the electronic headquarters of the INE, and, if necessary, at the town hall or the Electoral Census Office.

Polling stations are open from 9:00 a.m. and will close at 8:00 p.m. During that period, each elector must go to the polling station and table assigned to them according to the electoral census. You cannot vote in any center: you must do so at the assigned table. The INE reminds that electors residing in Andalusia can vote in person at their assigned polling station or, if they requested it within the deadline, by mail.

The quickest way to find out is usually to check the census card that the Electoral Census Office sends to your home. This document includes updated registration details, the polling station, the electoral location, and the address where each voter should go. For these elections, census card mailings were carried out between April 20 and May 11, 2026.

How to know where to vote in Andalusia this May 17

The first option is to check the census card received at home. It shows the polling station, section, and assigned table. It is not essential to bring it to vote, but it does help to locate the table more quickly within the center.

The second option is to consult the data on the INE's electronic headquarters. During the electoral period, the INE allows you to check your census registration and, when the consultation is made within an electoral process, it also shows the data of the assigned polling station and electoral location. A complete registration check requires identification via Cl@ve or electronic certificate.

The third option, useful if you do not have Cl@ve or a certificate, is to go to the town hall, the corresponding consulate if you reside abroad, the Provincial Delegation of the Electoral Census Office, or call the toll-free number provided by the Electoral Census Office. For this May 17 election day, the phone number 900 343 232 is available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Quick check of polling station and electoral location without Cl@ve

In addition to the complete census consultation, the INE has a specific service to consult the polling station and electoral district corresponding to an address. This procedure does not require authentication. The INE itself describes it as a consultation about the polling station and electoral district of a given address, without the need for Cl@ve.

In the INE's electoral guide for the Andalusian elections, it is detailed that voters can consult the polling station and district without Cl@ve access using search criteria such as province, municipality, and the first letter of the last name.

This is a particularly useful method for those who have lost their census card, have not received it, or simply want to confirm before leaving home that there have been no changes in their polling station or district.

What happens if you have not received your census card

Not receiving the census card does not prevent you from voting. The card is an informational document, not an authorization to participate in the election day. The important thing is to be correctly registered in the census and to go to the corresponding polling station with an official document that allows you to identify yourself.

If the card has not arrived, has been lost, or has been mixed up with electoral propaganda and letters, it is best to consult the information through official channels: the INE's electronic headquarters, the town hall, the Provincial Delegation of the Electoral Census Office, or by calling 900 343 232. The census card is useful, but it does not replace the identity document. To vote, what the polling station must verify is who you are and if you are listed on that polling station's census.

What document to bring to vote

To vote in the Andalusian elections, you must identify yourself with an original document with a photograph. The usual documents are the DNI, passport, or driver's license. Photocopies are not accepted. RTVE reminds that these documents are valid even if they are expired, as long as they are originals and allow the voter's identity to be verified.

This is important: an expired DNI can be used to vote. What is not valid is to bring a copy, a photo on your mobile, or a renewal receipt without a photograph.

It is also worth noting that the Central Electoral Board suspended the use of the digital DNI and digital driver's license for voting in the Andalusian elections until a sufficiently secure verification system is guaranteed.

Voting hours for the Andalusian elections

Polling stations open at 9:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM. Those inside the polling station at closing time will be able to vote, even if it is already eight in the evening.

The day will last eleven hours and, after the polls close, the provisional count will begin. The results will allow us to know the distribution of the 109 seats in the Andalusian Parliament and whether Juanma Moreno achieves an absolute majority or not.

The practical recommendation is not to wait until the last moment. If you don't know where to vote, check your polling station and district beforehand. And if you work during the day, the regulations provide for paid leave of up to four hours to exercise the right to vote, depending on the employment circumstances of each voter.
