At least one person has lost their life this Monday in the Russian region of Belgorod following an attack attributed to the Ukrainian Army, according to Russian authorities, who have also reported the interception of more than 500 Ukrainian drones during the night.
The regional administration of Belgorod has explained in a brief note disseminated on social media that the fatal victim is a civilian who was traveling in a car hit by a drone in the town of Dunaika, in the Graivoron district. "The driver died at the scene," they stated, subsequently expressing their condolences to the deceased's relatives.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense has detailed in a statement published on its official channels that air defense systems have managed to shoot down 519 unmanned aircraft in different areas of the country, including the regions of Moscow and Leningrad.
The military department has added that interception operations have also taken place over the waters of the Sea of Azov and on the Crimean peninsula --annexed by Moscow in 2014, a move that the international community does not recognize--. In the city of Sevastopol, the attacks caused a power outage, although the service was restored after several hours.
