The authorities of Ukraine have communicated this Tuesday that at least four people have lost their lives, including two minors, as a consequence of a new wave of attacks launched by the Armed Forces of Russia in the last hours against several regions of the country, including Odesa, Kherson, Sumy, and Donetsk.
The governor of Sumy, Oleg Grigorov, has specified that the child victims are two girls aged 5 and 10 who died along with another woman during the airstrikes by the Russian army. "A difficult night, terrible consequences," he lamented in a message posted on his social media.
According to Grigorov, six guided bombs have hit civilian facilities, while another two would have been intercepted by Ukrainian air defense systems.
In the city of Mykolaiv, the capital of the province of the same name, another woman has died due to the Russian attacks recorded in the last hours. "There were no military targets" in the affected areas, denounced Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevich on his social media.
"Russian terrorists deliberately attacked a private sector. The homes of people who were simply going about their lives, returning home and going to bed," Sienkevich added, who described the attack as a direct blow against the civilian population.
During the night and morning, local Ukrainian authorities have also reported impacts in the urban center of Kramatorsk, in the Donetsk province, where more than twenty injuries have been recorded. These attacks are joined by new bombings in Kherson and Odesa, which have left several additional injuries.
Zelensky denounces "deliberate hunts" against civilians
In Kherson, one of the recordings released this Tuesday shows the moment when a Russian drone targets a man who is desperately trying to flee and ends up being hit. The video has been released by President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has denounced the "safari" to which, according to him, the Russian authorities subject the civilian population daily.
"A Russian drone deliberately hunted a man selling vegetables and detonated right next to him. The Russians even admitted the crime, showing zero remorse and openly boasting about tormenting people. The man was injured in the explosion," Zelensky explained on his social media.
"Every day, ordinary people in Kherson face these 'safaris' from the Russians. The world must see this. It must see every proof that Russia has gone mad and that its soldiers delight in killing and mistreating civilians," insisted the Ukrainian president.
In line with other messages in which he denounces the "crimes" of the Russian Army, Zelensky has reiterated that, without firm pressure from the international community, the Kremlin will continue to act in the same way. "It is impossible to imagine that the world can coexist with this evil," he stated.
"We must act and support life in ways that force Russia to think seriously about peace instead of expanding the reach of its drones. This is not just about Ukraine," Zelensky added, warning that Moscow could end up directing its attacks towards other countries, such as Poland, Finland, Moldova, or the Baltics.
