Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced early this Thursday the launch of two new series of attacks against United States facilities and positions in Bahrain and Kuwait, which it presents as a "response" to the "attack" carried out hours earlier by the US military against several targets within the Islamic Republic.

According to the statement released by the Iranian military force, "18 important targets" belonging to the "evil" US Army would have been hit. Among them, it mentioned the Ali Al Salem and Ahmad Al Jaber air bases, in Kuwaiti territory, as well as the Sheikh Isa base, located in Bahrain, according to information published by the Tasnim news agency, linked to the Revolutionary Guard itself.

Tehran justifies this offensive as a "punishment for the aggressor" and "in response to the attack by the child-killing US Army against some of the service units and coastal posts of the Revolutionary Guard, the Police headquarters, and the Bandar Abbas airport area," in the south of the country.

In addition, Iranian authorities claim to have launched "various types" of "destructive" drones against the US Navy's Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain, directing the aircraft against communication antennas and radar facilities of the Patriot missile defense system.

A few minutes after the Revolutionary Guard's announcement, the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain indicated that alarm sirens had been activated in the country, urging citizens and residents to remain calm and move to the nearest safe place.

This exchange of attacks occurs on the second consecutive day of escalation between Washington and Tehran. The previous day, the Revolutionary Guard had already claimed responsibility for a wave of drone attacks against US bases in Bahrain and other points in the Middle East, which it described as "retaliation" for the military actions carried out by the United States against various enclaves of the Islamic Republic.
