Iranian authorities have sent a new offer to the United States this Friday through Pakistan, a country acting as an intermediary, with the aim of reactivating a negotiation process that has been blocked for weeks.
According to data released by the official Iranian agency IRNA, the document was handed over to Pakistani authorities on Thursday night, with no details on its content having emerged yet, nor have there been any public reactions from Islamabad or Washington.
The United States and Iran maintain a channel of dialogue with the intention of closing an agreement that allows putting an end to the conflict in the Middle East, triggered after the surprise offensive launched on February 28 by the United States and Israel against Iran, in the midst of talks between Washington and Tehran for a new nuclear pact.
However, the deep discrepancies between both delegations have so far prevented the finalization of a second meeting in Islamabad, which was already the venue for a first face-to-face encounter after the ceasefire agreement of April 8, subsequently extended indefinitely by decision of US President Donald Trump.
