The president of the PP of Aragon and head of the regional Executive, Jorge Azcón, has once again cast doubt on the PSOE's ability to lead institutions, considering that it "can only talk about corruption" and wondering "how they are going to be in charge of solving anyone's problems if they are not even capable of solving their own sewers".

In his speech, Azcón described it as "impossible" for a party that, in his opinion, is "in a state of putrefaction" to present itself to any neighbor promising solutions to their daily difficulties. He ironically stated that "the first thing they check in their mail, in their mailbox, is if they have received any notification from the court. They are not concerned with receiving a neighbor, but with thinking if the UCO has entered a Ministry or a City Council governed by the PSOE today".

Faced with this scenario, the popular leader has harshly criticized the general secretary of the PSOE Aragón, Pilar Alegría, for having led the Aragonese organization this Saturday to "pay homage" to Pedro Sánchez, of whom he said that "he laughs at democracy and forces the PSOE to shout 'I am with corruption'". According to Azcón, this total alignment has transformed the PSOE of Huesca, "which last year were the most sanchistas, into poodle dogs next to the socialist leadership defended by Pilar Alegría".

The role of the PSOE has been one of the central axes of Azcón's speech during the closing of the XIV Provincial Congress of the PP of Huesca, in which Isaac Claver has been proclaimed as the new provincial president, replacing Gerardo Oliván. Azcón has announced that Oliván will continue to be counted on in the next regional congress, highlighting his career and experience within the party.

The PP's "formula for prosperity"

Faced with the situation he attributes to the socialists, Azcón has claimed that the PP is concerned with "the real problems of the people" and has defended the "popular formula for prosperity", based on the creation of more productive employment, with better salaries, and on attracting new investments in all sectors, with the aim of subsequently strengthening public services.

He assured that this model is being applied in the province of Huesca and that results are already being seen with "absolutely encouraging" data such as an unemployment rate of 5.6%, five points below the national average. At this point, he reviewed some of the main investments and focused on the "spectacular" figures of the Walqa technology park, which in three years has gone from 51 to 89 business projects and from 460 to 902 workers.

The Aragonese president also cited actions in logistics, such as the Fraga platform, housing policy "thinking of everyone", the 200 million from the Pyrenees Plan, the improvement of 600 kilometers of roads in the province, and investments in health centers. In contrast to the PSOE, he emphasized that "they talk about eighteen hundred years in prison and we could be talking about thousands of projects that we are putting into operation".

Azcón also addressed some of the challenges facing his Executive, including the return of the Sijena mural paintings. On this matter, he insisted that they will not give up "an inch" because "it is not politics, Sijena is defending our dignity and defending justice, it is not letting ourselves be treated as if we were second-class, as some of them believe," referring to Catalan pro-independence parties.

The leader of the Aragonese PP took the opportunity to denounce the paralysis of works of state competence in the Altoaragonesa province, especially hydraulic ones. He gave as an example the Almudévar reservoir, "a work finished in 2024 but which still cannot irrigate a single hectare because they forgot to contract the electricity," and also mentioned the Gállego river regulation project. In this context, he reproached that "it is indecent that the countryside today matters to the Socialist Party as much as it matters to them, which is absolutely nothing."

Faced with this situation, he claimed that, with PP governments and with the new PP team in Huesca led by Isaac Claver, "we want there to continue to be enthusiasm, a desire to improve things, and we want to continue looking to the future knowing that there are people who care about us and not about filling their pockets."

De Claver has recalled that both became in 2019 "mayors against all odds" and has summarized the "Isaac's formula" in "illusion, desire and hope". He has remembered the episode in which the mayor of Monzón climbed onto a wall to convince squatters to leave a newly renovated home for its legitimate owners: "Isaac Claver has been the mayor who in Monzón has solved the problems of all his neighbors and now in the DPH, as mayor of mayors, helps all those who call the DPH. I am convinced that this formula for success is what allows us to look to the future with optimism".

Azcón has concluded by guaranteeing that his party "is going to defend the people of Huesca, the province and its just demands that have not been met for a long time. I am convinced that we have incredible work to do".
