The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, insisted this Monday before the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, that the opposition "is not unscrupulous" and that what it demands is "decency," while accusing him of being "afraid" to call citizens to the polls. At the same time, he acknowledged that he appreciates "some movement" among the PSOE's parliamentary allies and expressed "optimism" because, as he said, everyone is "asking for early elections" given the "critical" situation the country is going through.

"I am very interested in the attitude of the Government's partners and it seems there is a small movement. We will see if this movement remains a mockery or, on the contrary, is a consistent movement," Feijóo declared in an interview on 'Telecinco', which was reported by Europa Press.

The leader of the opposition reiterated that he will do "everything possible" to replace Pedro Sánchez's government. "I am an ally of two approaches: Decency and early elections. If the parties that are now calling for early elections truly agree, we will unite there," he stressed.

After recalling that this Monday marks eight years since the motion of no confidence that brought Sánchez to La Moncloa, an operation with which, in his opinion, he did not come "to clean anything" but to "dirty everything," Feijóo called for not "speculating" about new motions of no confidence because, as he indicated, "the focus is on knowing the content and scope of such systemic corruption." Furthermore, he warned that the Executive is seeking to "change the conversation."

"Motions of no confidence are not speculated about. If you want to make a motion of no confidence, you present it. Therefore, I am not going to continue speculating about a motion," concluded the president of the PP.

Message to the PNV and warning to socialist officials

Feijóo emphasized that he is following with "attention" the statements of the Government's partners, who describe the situation as "unsustainable." "The partners say that if there is illegal financing, they will act, and if there is a criminal organization, will they not act?" he questioned them, before remarking that the PSOE is "in the hands of outlaws," alluding to the words used by former socialist vice-president Alfonso Guerra.

The PP leader has also addressed the PNV, which he has urged to "make a decision" after the PSE's "threat" to govern with Bildu in the Basque Country if the Basque nationalists take steps to support a potential motion. Likewise, he has called on the socialist mayors "to also act" in the face of the current political scenario.
