The parliamentary future of Por Andalucía Rafael Sánchez Rufo has announced that the defense of public Vocational Training will be one of the central axes of his work in the next Andalusian legislature, considering that the "suppression of several Basic FP training cycles in the province" is "another example of the dismantling process of public education that the PP has been carrying out in the Junta".

As the coalition explained in a press release, Sánchez Rufo has warned that "there is no time to lose" in the face of "cutback policies" that, in his opinion, the Andalusian Executive of the Popular Party is implementing.

In this regard, he has reiterated that the elimination of these Basic FP studies represents "another example of the dismantling process of public education that the Junta de Andalucía has been carrying out" and that, as he has warned, "will intensify in the coming years".

"When those who attack the rights of the social majority do not stop, those of us who are on the side of the people cannot afford to stop either," stressed the representative of Por Andalucía, who will take office on June 11.

Among the first initiatives he will present in the regional Parliament, Sánchez Rufo has announced that he will register several questions addressed to the Andalusian Government to explain the elimination of different Basic FP cycles in the province of Huelva. Specifically, he mentioned the Culinary and Hospitality cycle at IES Saltés in Punta Umbría, the Floristry and Gardening cycle at IES La Marisma in Huelva, and the IT cycle at IES Diego Macías in Calañas.

In his opinion, these decisions "especially" affect students from areas with greater social difficulties, reducing their educational and employment opportunities. Furthermore, he interprets that they are part of a strategy "aimed at favoring the expansion of private education over the public network".

"Students who want to continue their studies will have increasing difficulties and, in many cases, will be forced to resort to private or subsidized centers. That is the educational model that the Popular Party is promoting," he indicated.

For this reason, he has urged the educational community of the three affected institutes to maintain pressure and demand that the Junta de Andalucía reverse its decision. He recalled that "it already happened last year in Zalamea la Real, where social and educational pressure managed to reverse a similar decision. We are convinced that it is also possible to achieve it in these cases," he pointed out.

PUBLIC HEALTH, DOÑANA AND INFOCA

In addition to measures in defense of Vocational Training, Sánchez Rufo has announced that on the same day of his inauguration, he will register a series of initiatives on the health situation in the province. Among them, actions to find out what the Junta plans to do in the face of the collapse of the emergency services at the Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital, the evolution of waiting lists, screening programs, and the reinforcement of public health in the summer.

The elected parliamentarian has also announced proposals related to the protection of Doñana, with the labor recognition of the Infoca workers after the last fire campaign, as well as with the study of the unemployment situation and job insecurity in Huelva.

Sánchez Rufo has warned that the new parliamentary stage will be conditioned by a conservative majority that, in his opinion, "will deepen the policies of cutting rights and public services, but he has guaranteed that Por Andalucía will exercise active opposition both inside and outside the institutions."

"We are going to face this task with all the enthusiasm, with all the commitment to this land and working together with the people who fight every day for a better province of Huelva and for a better Andalusia," he concluded.
