The Vox Parliamentary Group in the Congress of Deputies has registered a question addressed to the Government, with a request for a written answer, to detail the fiscal and customs control actions that are being carried out on those companies or networks that could be diverting large volumes of fuel for illicit uses, particularly linked to the phenomenon of "petaqueo" in drug trafficking.

In the text of the initiative, which Europa Press has accessed, Vox alludes, by way of example, to an operation in which eight vessels dedicated to "petaqueo" were intercepted in a single day on the Guadalete River, near El Puerto de Santa María, which were transporting approximately 550 canisters and around 11,000 liters of fuel intended to supply drug trafficking speedboats.

The parliamentary group emphasizes that, given the proliferation of these "floating narcogas stations," the economic benefit "is tremendous, which is causing many of these organizations to be making a fortune."

In this context, Vox demands that the Executive specify what specific measures it intends to adopt to tackle "petaqueo" and what type of fiscal and customs controls are currently being applied to companies or networks suspected of diverting large quantities of fuel towards illicit activities.
