The Criminal Section of Court number 3 of Albacete has scheduled for this Thursday, July 9, the trial against J.G.E., for whom the Prosecutor's Office is seeking a total sentence of up to six years in prison for alleged sexual abuse committed against four young women on different city buses.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office's indictment, which Europa Press has had access to, the first incident occurred in November 2018, when the defendant was traveling on a Line A bus in Albacete. There, he sat next to A. --who was 18 years old at the time-- and began to converse with her.
During that conversation, the accused told her she had a great body, asked her if she had a boyfriend, where she lived, and that he would like to spend a lot of time with her. In addition, he touched her leg and cornered her against the vehicle's window. The young woman, between sobs, managed to push him away, pressed the bell, and decided to get off at the next stop to get away from him.
The Prosecutor's Office's account includes another incident in February 2019, this time on a Line B bus in Albacete. The accused approached C. --born in 1998-- and sat next to her, covering his legs with a jacket, while initiating a conversation in which he told her she was very nice or that she had beautiful eyes.
Upon reaching the Juan de Toledo stop, as B. stood up to get off the bus, the defendant, always according to the prosecutor and with the intention of satisfying his lustful desires, caressed the upper part of her leg.
On a third occasion, in May 2019, also on a Line B city bus in Albacete, the accused sat next to C. --born in 1999-- and began to tell her "if you want to come to my house, I love being with pretty girls, I can buy you whatever you want."
Next, and maintaining the same lewd intent described by the prosecution, he touched her right thigh. Faced with this situation, C. immediately got up and told the bus driver what had happened, who expelled the man from the vehicle.
The last of the acts attributed to him took place in March 2021, when the defendant boarded a Line D bus in Albacete and sat next to D. --born in 1998--. As in previous cases, he struck up a conversation, inquiring if she had a boyfriend, while placing his coat over his own legs to conceal his movements.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, with the intention of satisfying his lewd desires, he slid his hand under the coat and touched D.'s leg and knee. The young woman reacted by standing up and getting off at the next stop, after informing the driver of what the accused had just done to her.
For the Prosecutor's Office, these episodes constitute four crimes of sexual abuse, for which it requests that the defendant be sentenced to one year and six months in prison for each of them.
