The unexpected closure of the opposition academy Innova has left more than 1,000 students and teachers in a situation of total uncertainty, without access to classes, without a response from the company, and without guarantees regarding the refund of amounts paid in advance.
The academy, based in Madrid and with an online presence in several autonomous communities, suddenly ceased its activity after communicating through its virtual campus that it was in an "extremely delicate financial situation" that prevented it from continuing with the training.
A closure without direct notice and with students in the middle of a course
The affected parties report that they did not receive prior individual communication before the closure and that they found out about the situation through a generic message published on the platform. Since then, they assure that the company has stopped responding to calls, emails, and messages.
One of the affected opposition candidates calculates that there are more than 1,000 students affected, many of them in advanced stages of preparation for official exams.
Lost investment and oppositions at risk
Among the testimonies collected, students point to disbursements of between 400 and more than 1,700 euros, in some cases corresponding to long-term courses that extended until 2027.
Many students now find themselves without an updated syllabus, without live classes, and without the possibility of resolving doubts, a few weeks before key exams in selection processes.
The students describe a situation of frustration, uncertainty, and a feeling of abandonment. Some claim to have physically gone to the academy's headquarters without finding any activity inside. Others highlight that the closure has even affected people who recently enrolled, when the financial situation could already be compromised.
Teachers not paid for months
The impact also reaches the teaching staff. Several teachers report non-payments since the beginning of the year and lack of communication from the center's management.
One of the trainers assures that the company initially justified the delays alleging problems derived from the previous ownership, but that it subsequently stopped responding completely.
Both students and teachers question the management of the academy and report that it continued to accept new enrollments close to the closure date. Some affected parties consider that, if the company knew its financial situation, it should have stopped registrations, which could aggravate possible legal responsibilities.
