The Parliament of Catalonia has passed an institutional declaration in which it censures the "humiliating and degrading" treatment that Israeli authorities allegedly dispensed to the activists of the Flotilla, detained on Monday and Tuesday in international waters when they were sailing on a humanitarian mission to Gaza.
The statement received the support of PSC-Units, ERC, Comuns, and the CUP, but as it did not reach the support of two-thirds of the Chamber, it was not read out in the plenary session. The text also questions the video released by the Israeli Minister of National Security, the far-right politician Itamar Ben Gvir, in which he is seen reprimanding and humiliating the activists of the last intercepted Flotilla.
The declaration calls on the Government to "carry out all necessary actions before the State Government and the EU to guarantee the immediate release of the detained persons," who were deported this Thursday.
