Airtificial, through its Aerospace & Defense division, will assume the manufacturing of 800 components destined for the four Airbus C295 military transport aircraft purchased by Thailand at its Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) plant, as the company communicated this Wednesday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

Recently, the Thai Air Force formalized the purchase of two Airbus C295s, one of Airbus Defence and Space's benchmark models in the military transport segment, while its Navy ordered two more aircraft. In total, this translates into the production of approximately 800 parts by Airtificial for these aircraft, at a rate of 200 units per aircraft.

The company has emphasized that its contribution to this contract "reinforces its positioning" within the Spanish industrial chain associated with the C295, an aircraft that is assembled at Airbus Defence and Space facilities in Seville and is used in military transport missions, medical evacuations, logistical support, and troop deployment, among other operational uses.

"The acquisition of this aircraft by Thailand reinforces the international projection of this Airbus aircraft manufactured in Spain and consolidates Andalusia's importance as an aeronautical industrial hub," Airtificial highlighted.

From the Jerez factory, Airtificial Aerospace & Defense (A&D) produces various elements for the C295, including leading edges, ducts, air intakes, interior panels, and other structural components made of carbon fiber and fiberglass.

In this regard, the firm has indicated that composite materials are crucial for reducing weight, increasing efficiency, and ensuring the resistance and reliability of parts subjected to demanding technical requirements.

The Jerez de la Frontera plant is configured as one of the key sites for Airtificial Aerospace & Defense. At these facilities, the company has specific areas for industrial processes that include a clean room, autoclave ovens, automatic fiber cutting, ultrasonic inspection, and dimensional verification systems.

"Each new international delivery of the Airbus C295 highlights the capacity of the Spanish aerospace industry to participate in highly demanding technological defense programs. From Airtificial, we contribute to this value chain with industrial knowledge, experience in composite materials, and a consolidated execution capacity from Andalusia," highlighted Guillermo Fernández de Peñaranda, CEO of Airtificial.

The collaboration between Airtificial and Airbus Defence and Space is integrated into an already consolidated industrial relationship in both civil and military aeronautical programs. The company supplies components to large international OEMs and is present on Airbus platforms such as the C295, the A400M, the A330 MRTT, and the A350; on the Hürjet alongside Turkish Aerospace, as well as in other benchmark projects within the aerospace industry.
