The BComú councilor Carol Recio has reported that her party and ERC have reached an agreement with the PSC municipal government to increase the tourist tax applied to cruise ships docking in Barcelona to 24 euros. This modification must be submitted to the Parliament in order to change the accompanying law of the Generalitat Budgets for 2026.
In a press conference held this Monday, Recio detailed that the agreement will be finalized in the Economy and Finance commission this Wednesday, where a proposal registered by Comuns and another by ERC are expected to move forward to implement the initiative.
"Collboni says a lot, but does little or nothing," stated Recio, who criticized the mayor for denouncing the city's overcrowding and, at the same time, reaching an agreement with Junts for a Usage Plan in Ciutat Vella that, according to her, promotes businesses oriented towards tourism.
MUNICIPAL SERVICES
On another matter, the councilor lamented that the mobilizations of municipal services "are becoming the norm" and called on Collboni to sit down and negotiate with the staff and open a real dialogue to reach an agreement that puts an end to the strikes.
To this end, her group will bring a request to the commissions addressed to the local executive, demanding that the labor conflicts open to date "be resolved through dialogue," something they consider a minimum requirement and which, she ironically noted, the municipal government itself should also adopt.
