Casa 47 has appointed Gemma Peribáñez as the new Director General of Urbanization and Urban Agenda, a position from which she will assume the management and coordination of processes related to the agreement of actions, land administration, and urban development until the plots are made available.

Peribáñez is an architect from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid and has a solid specialization in urbanism, territorial planning, and heritage management, areas in which she has developed a significant part of her professional career.

Throughout her career, she has been the author and coordinator of territorial plans in highly complex areas, has developed 'masterplans' and general plans in different municipalities, and has participated as a designer, coordinator, and director in large-scale urban planning initiatives.

Her career has been recognized with the National Urbanism Prize of Spain, 2005, and the European Gubbio Prize from the Associazione Nazionale Centri Storico-Artistici, Italy, 2006, awards that endorse her experience in the discipline.

Likewise, the Madrid Centro project, for which she was methodologically responsible, received the European Urban and Regional Planning Award from the European Council of Spatial Planners and the Committee of the Regions of the European Union, 2012, as well as the Research Prize of the Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, 2012.

At Casa 47, she will join the main urban regeneration projects, including Madrid's Nuevo Barrio Campamento, where the construction of 10,700 homes is planned, in addition to the analysis and development of the plots that are being assigned.
