The affiliates of Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) in the six Airbus centers in Spain have given their support for the union to join the strike maintained by the company's workers, with the aim of demanding, among other aspects, an update of salaries and the continuity of the current teleworking agreement.

With this support, CCOO goes to the negotiation table this Tuesday with the management of the aerospace multinational with a clear mandate and, furthermore, has decided to call an indefinite strike starting September 7 if significant progress is not made in the talks with Airbus in the coming weeks.

Among its main demands, CCOO is demanding a salary increase linked to the CPI, maintaining the two established teleworking days, and keeping a flexible system for enjoying vacations, so that half of the days are set by each employee and the rest are adapted to the organizational needs of Airbus.

At the same time, the union has asked the company to ensure that all personnel in the space division continue to be included in the scope of the collective agreement, in line with its demand that the new European space company—the result of an agreement between Airbus, Leonardo, and Thales—does not lead to a deterioration of working conditions for the workers involved.

CCOO affiliates have also supported that any possible pre-agreement arising from the negotiation be submitted to the ratification of the entire workforce, committing to abide by the result of that vote.

Within the current protest calendar approved by the workers, daily gatherings have been called until July 31 at the gates of the company's main plants starting at 05:00 in the morning, coinciding with the start of the first industrial production shifts.

These mobilizations, in which the CGT, UGT, UTIL, and ATP organizations also participate, extend to the Airbus Operations, Airbus Defence and Space, and Airbus Helicopters divisions in the different factories in the national territory.

Last Friday, July 10, Airbus management in Spain reiterated its willingness for "dialogue with the social partners" after more than a week of protests, with the aim of "returning to normal as soon as possible to mitigate the impact of the strike on its employees, operations, and customers."
