The Colombian energy and infrastructure company Interconexión Eléctrica (ISA) obtained in the first half of the year a net profit of 1.253 trillion Colombian pesos (336.9 million euros), which represents an increase of 9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The group's operating income increased by 16.9%, reaching 8.595 trillion pesos (2.311 million euros). However, excluding the executed constructions, the turnover stood at 5.861 trillion pesos (1.576 million euros).
The gross operating result (Ebitda) rose to 4.889 trillion pesos (1.314 million euros), which represents an improvement of 19.8%. For its part, the net financial debt was placed at the end of the semester at 34.155 trillion pesos (9.182 million euros), 0.7% more than at the end of December.
In the second quarter of the year, ISA recorded profits of 695 billion pesos (186.8 million euros), while the operating billing reached 4.735 trillion pesos (1.273 million euros), with increases of 52.7% and 41.6%, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year.
"The performance of the semester was mainly driven by the commissioning of new transmission projects, the financial performance of energy and road concessions, and the update of the remuneration of contracts to recognize the effect of inflation, among other factors," ISA explained in a press release.
"In a region that increasingly demands infrastructure to boost its development and competitiveness, we continue to strengthen an energy platform capable of connecting territories, enabling opportunities, and generating well-being," indicated, for her part, the president of ISA, Patricia Castaño.
On March 26, the general shareholders' meeting of ISA gave the green light to the distribution of dividends of 1.200 billion dollars (1.042 million euros), equivalent to 1.09 dollars (0.95 euros) per share. On May 27, the company already made a first payment of 241 billion pesos (64.8 million euros).
