Lidl strengthens its presence in Spain with the launch, during the months of July and August, of four new supermarkets in Galicia, Canary Islands, and the Valencian Community, in which it will allocate an investment close to 30 million euros, according to the company detailed in a statement.
In total, the launch of these establishments will allow the creation of 50 new jobs. Together, the new commercial spaces will add nearly 6,000 square meters, which helps to optimize a network that already exceeds 730 points of sale in the Spanish market.
The new stores will be located in Sanxenxo (Galicia), Agüimes (Canary Islands), as well as in Ontinyent and Sant Joan d'Alacant-Benimagrell, the latter two in the Valencian Community.
The opening of these centers is considered a relevant step within the chain's expansion plan, guided by sustainability criteria and a long-term strategy aimed at consolidating its presence throughout the country.
Looking ahead to the fiscal year 2026, the company's roadmap includes an investment aimed at the opening of around 50 supermarkets across Spain. Of these, approximately 40 will be new establishments, while the rest will focus on the modernization and expansion of already operational establishments, with the aim of improving the shopping experience of its customers.
