The PP candidate, María Guardiola, was sworn in this Wednesday as president of the Junta de Extremadura thanks to the support of the parliamentary groups of PP and Vox.

The investiture session has been held in the Assembly of Extremadura, on a day marked by more than three hours of debate between the different groups and the popular aspirant, before proceeding to a nominal, public, and roll-call vote, in which Guardiola has achieved an absolute majority in the first round.

In total, María Guardiola has garnered 40 supports, corresponding to the 29 deputies from the PP and the 11 from Vox, while the remaining 25 parliamentarians, 18 from the PSOE and 7 from Unidas por Extremadura, have expressed their rejection in the vote.

Vox's support for María Guardiola has materialized after both parties reached an agreement last Thursday to form a coalition government, under which Vox will assume the Ministry of Social Services, with the rank of Vice Presidency, and the Ministry of Agriculture, in addition to occupying the position of autonomous senator.
