The plenary session of the Parliament of the Balearic Islands will debate this Tuesday the possible censure of the president of Aena, Maurici Llucena, following the advertising banner installed at Palma airport, linked to excess tourism, and which the financial entity responsible for the advertisement has committed to removing this Monday.
The regional Chamber will set its position through a motion for a resolution (PNL) registered by the PP, which, in addition to the censure, calls for an airport policy "coherent" with the "containment" objectives set by the institutions of the Islands.
In the press conference prior to the plenary session, the spokesperson for the PP in the Parliament, Sebastià Sagreras, requested the support of the rest of the groups for this initiative, with which he intends to highlight the "disconnection" that, in his opinion, exists between the central Government and the Balearic reality.
Likewise, the motion proposes that the Parliament express its rejection of the expansion of Eivissa airport. On this point, Sagreras has criticized the state Executive for betting on the "increase in passengers" and the "expansion of infrastructure," and will call for "greater decision-making capacity" for the Balearic Islands in the management of these facilities, described as "strategic."
The parliamentary session will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the usual control session of the Government and will conclude with the vote on this PNL and another initiative by MÉS per Mallorca regarding the establishment of a specific interprofessional minimum wage for the Balearic Islands.
The first control question will be formulated by the PSIB deputy Verónica Llufriu and will focus on the conservation of the housing stock. Several questions on housing policy will also be raised by the MÉS per Mallorca deputy Ferran Rosa, the socialist Mercedes Garrido, and the PSIB spokesperson, Iago Negueruela, who will ask the president of the Government, Marga Prohens, a question about housing acquisition.
In the same vein, Vox deputy Patricia de las Heras will address the residential problem from another perspective, by questioning the Executive about the "vulnerability of squatters."
Conflict of the educators of the escoletes
Education will also occupy a prominent place in the plenary session, with questions about the future of Ceipieem Son Serra, where the educational community recently mobilized to demand a new center, and about the situation of the group of educators from the 'escoletes'. These issues will be raised by PSIB deputies Malena Riudavets and Amanda Fernández, and subsequently, an interpellation by the Mixed Group on this matter will be held.
In relation to the conflict in 0-3 education, Negueruela stated this Monday in the pre-plenary appearance to criticize the "imposition" that, in his opinion, the Minister of Labor, Public Function and Social Dialogue, Catalina Cabrer, would have carried out by suspending the strike planned for this Tuesday due to a supposed procedural defect.
The leader of the opposition has accused the minister of trying to "end" the fundamental right to strike and has insisted that it is the workers who must decide whether to call off the stoppages.
"If Cabrer and Prohens want to support the 0-3 education workers, they should sit down with the employers and force them to negotiate with the unions," he stressed.
Health and tourism will also be the focus of part of the debate, with questions about the healthcare provided to patients of the Eivissa and Formentera Health Area, by PSIB deputy Irantzu Fernández, and about the Government's measures to contain tourist flows, a matter that will be raised by the spokesperson for MÉS per Mallorca, Lluís Apesteguia.
Coastal management will reach the hemicycle through the intervention of deputy Pilar Carbonero, who will express her doubts about the concession of Cala'n Bosch, and deputy Llorenç Córdoba of the Mixed Group, who will inquire about the delimitation of the coastal zone.
Mobility will be another focus of the day: Vox deputy Sergio Rodríguez will ask about the payment of the road agreement, and subsequently, a motion from the PSIB will be put to a vote, as well as the appearance of the Minister of Housing, Territory and Mobility, José Luis Mateo.
Other matters to be addressed during the session will include the situation of public services, the development of the omnibus law approved last week, and the journalistic criteria applied in IB3.
