The far-right candidate, Abelardo de la Espriella (50.61%), is ahead of his left-wing contender, Iván Cepeda (47.84%), in the second round of the presidential elections held this Sunday in Colombia, according to official data released by the Colombian National Registry, corresponding to the count of 14.4% of the polling stations.

If these figures are consolidated, De la Espriella would win the Presidency of Colombia and would defeat the officialist candidate, Cepeda, backed by the outgoing president, Gustavo Petro.

In the first round, held on May 31, De la Espriella was already the most voted candidate, with 43.74% of the votes, compared to 40.9% obtained by Cepeda.
