The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has communicated that the United States and Iran have reached what he has described as a Peace Agreement that contemplates a ceasefire in all conflict scenarios, with express inclusion of Lebanon.
"The two parties have declared the immediate and permanent end of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon," Sharif indicated in a message disseminated through social networks.
Sharif specified that the official ceremony for the signing of the agreement will take place on Friday, June 19 in Switzerland, and took the opportunity to convey his gratitude to the United States and Iran "for their commitment to achieving a diplomatic solution to the conflict."
"We also want to value our brothers in mediation," Sharif added, alluding to Qatar "for its support in achieving this agreement," to Saudi Arabia for its "visionary leadership," and to Turkey "for its immense contributions."
As the Pakistani leader explained, the mediators will now organize a series of meetings that will take place throughout this week. "These pre-implementation contacts will lay the groundwork for technical talks and the official signing ceremony," he stated.
