Six people have lost their lives this Sunday after a mid-air collision between two helicopters in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes area, in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), according to information provided by Brazilian authorities.

Among the occupants of the aircraft was American singer Oliver Tree, known for songs like 'Life Goes On' and 'Miss You', the latter with German DJ Robin Schulz. His style mixed alternative pop with electronic music and combined it with an extravagant aesthetic.

In the accident, Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim Díaz, known as 'Gaspi', also died, who had millions of followers thanks to his controversial, transgressive, and several times canceled street humor videos.

The impact occurred at 8:59 in the morning in the southwest of Rio de Janeiro, as detailed by the Firefighters, who confirmed that there were no survivors.

The two helicopters crashed inside the grounds of an old abandoned church, currently rented by the electric car company BYD as a storage space. One of the aircraft registered a strong explosion upon hitting the ground and the fire reached several parked vehicles at the site, causing new detonations. The dense column of smoke was visible from several kilometers away.

The second helicopter did not explode after the impact, although it was overturned with the landing gear facing upwards. The wreckage was scattered over a radius of about 100 meters. Around 45 military personnel and 15 vehicles were mobilized to attend to the emergency.
