The British Police have reported that they have released without charges the one who was until now the only one arrested for the murder of the veteran and well-known conservative politician Ann Widdecombe, whose body was found lifeless on Thursday in her home in Newton Abbot, in the southwest of England.
The man, 26 years old, "is no longer part of the investigation," as indicated by Deputy Commissioner Matt Longman, of the Devon and Cornwall Police.
The priority of the police force, he added, remains "to identify those responsible and ensure that all available evidence is thoroughly examined."
Widdecombe, 78 years old, presented "serious injuries" when she was found dead around midday on Thursday, according to the Police, who have already ruled out that it was a terrorist attack.
