Several people have been injured by gunfire in the vicinity of an outdoor festival that was being held in the city of Toledo, in the state of Ohio (United States). This has been confirmed by state security forces, who have opened an investigation to find the perpetrators of the attack.

The Toledo Police Department detailed in a message published on the social network X that officers traveled to the area after receiving, around 5:37 p.m. (local time), a report of a person shot in the vicinity of the Old West End festival.

Upon arrival, officers encountered "several gunshot victims," according to the police statement. Likewise, the department specified that "many victims have been transported to nearby medical centers for treatment," although it has not yet offered more data on the condition of the injured or the severity of the injuries.

Local authorities have indicated that investigators continue to work on the ground to try to identify and locate the "suspect or suspects involved in the incident."
